Daily Itinerary

Day 1
You will be met at the Nairobi airport by your guide and transported to your hotel in Nairobi.

Day 2-3
Your safari starts with the drive to Samburu National Reserve. Samburu offers unique vistas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife, with over 365 species of bird. Game viewing and visibility is excellent: reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, elephant, oryx, Somali ostrich, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.(B,L,D)

Day 3
After breakfast you will either drive to the Highlands and Aberdares National Park. This park is part of the Aberdare Mountain Range, a fascinating region of Kenya. According to traditional Kikuyu folklore they are one of the homes of Ngai (God).

Mountain ranges and peaks soar to around 3,930m giving way to deep V-shaped valleys with streams and rivers cascading over spectacular waterfalls. Above the forest is a belt of bamboo, a favourite haunt of the Bongo, a rare and elusive forest antelope. At 3,000m, the bamboo gives way to moorland, home to eland, spotted and serval cats. In the forest are red Duiker, suni, Bushbuck - some of the old males are nearly black - elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog, leopard and colobus monkey. The moorland thickets are the home of bush duiker and black - fronted duiker and also the black rhino. (B,LD)

Day 4-5
After breakfast you will depart across the Kenya Highlands to Lake Nakuru. In the afternoon you will enjoy a game drive in the park where you will view millions of flamingoes. Nakuru is known for its populations of both black and white rhinos. The black rhinos, the more critically endangered of the two African species, have been slowly multiplying over the years, and are well protected. There are plenty of waterbucks, impalas, dik-diks, grants gazelles, lions and leopards. In 1977, the Rothschild giraffe was introduced to the Park. (BLD)

Day 6-9
After breakfast you will start on your way to Masai Mara. This drive offers spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley which provide excellent photo opportunities. Once in the Mara you will feel that you are truly in Africa. The Mara is the Africa of movies, books and legend, providing excellent opportunities for seeing the "big five", lion, leopard, rhino, buffal and elephant. Its stunning scenery and the magical interplay of life in the reserve will leave you breathless. (BLD)

Day 10
One final morning game drive before either leaving for Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi you will be taken either to the airport for your departing flight or to your hotel for an overnight stay. If you will be staying the night, transfers to the airport the next day are included. (BL).
